1. Your Right to Delete
You have the right to delete your account and request erasure of your personal data at any time. We will honour valid deletion requests in accordance with this policy and applicable law, including the DPDP Act, 2023.
2. Deactivation vs. Deletion
- Deactivation / cancellation stops your subscription and pauses the Service, but your data is retained so you can reactivate later.
- Deletion permanently removes your account and associated personal data from our active systems (and subsequently from backups), and is irreversible.
3. How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion through any of the following methods:
Method 1 — From your dashboard (self-serve)
- Log in to your SAMVAAD dashboard.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Select Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps.
Method 2 — By email
- Send an email to hello@recursx.in from the email address registered on your account.
- Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered business name and phone number.
Method 3 — Data deletion request (WhatsApp / Meta platform data)
If you need data associated with the WhatsApp integration deleted, email hello@recursx.in with the subject "WhatsApp Data Deletion Request", or use the in-dashboard deletion flow above, which also disconnects the WhatsApp Business number and revokes stored access tokens.
4. Identity Verification
To protect your account, we will verify that a deletion request genuinely comes from you (for example, by confirming control of your registered email or phone number, or via OTP). This prevents unauthorised or malicious deletion. We may decline or pause a request we cannot reasonably verify.
5. What Gets Deleted
Upon a verified deletion request, we will delete the following from our active systems:
- Your account profile, login credentials, and authentication data.
- Your product catalog, FAQs, AI configuration, and business settings.
- Stored WhatsApp connection details and access tokens (the integration is disconnected).
- End-customer conversation history and order / appointment records stored on your behalf.
- Analytics tied to your account, except data that has been irreversibly aggregated or anonymised.
6. What We May Retain — and Why
We retain the minimum data necessary to meet legal obligations and protect against fraud. This may include:
- Billing & tax records / invoices — retained for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law (typically up to 8 years).
- Records needed to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with law — retained only as long as necessary.
- Limited fraud-prevention and security logs — to protect the Service and other users.
- Anonymised or aggregated data — which no longer identifies you and is not subject to deletion.
We do not retain this data for marketing, and we do not sell it. Once the legal retention period lapses, the data is securely deleted.
7. Deletion Timeline
- Immediately — your access is disabled and the WhatsApp integration is disconnected; the AI stops responding on your number.
- Within 30 days — your personal data is deleted from our active production systems (subject to the legal retention exceptions above).
- Within 90 days — your data is purged from our rolling encrypted backups as they cycle out.
We may take longer only where required to complete legally-mandated retention, and only for the specific data subject to that requirement.
8. Effect of Deletion
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible — we cannot recover your data afterwards.
- Your WhatsApp Business number is disconnected from SAMVAAD; you can continue using it independently with Meta.
- Any active subscription is cancelled and future billing stops (previously incurred charges remain payable).
- You will lose access to historical conversations, analytics, and configurations.
We recommend exporting any data you wish to keep before requesting deletion. We are happy to help you export your data on request.
9. End-Customer Data Deletion
For the personal data of your end-customers that we process on your behalf, you are the Data Fiduciary. If one of your end-customers asks you to delete their data, you can remove the relevant conversation / records from your dashboard, or contact us at hello@recursx.in and we will assist you in fulfilling that request as your processor.
10. Grace Period & Reactivation
Where offered, a short grace period may apply between your request and permanent deletion, during which you can cancel the request and reactivate your account. Once permanent deletion has occurred, reactivation is no longer possible and you would need to create a new account.
